The Tuya smart LED downlight is a recessed-style lighting option for a planned ceiling installation. It can be considered for a living room, bedroom, corridor or feature area where the light fitting should sit neatly within the overall room design.

Match the fitting to the ceiling

Before choosing a downlight, measure the available ceiling cut-out and the space above it. Mounting depth, access to wiring and the surrounding ceiling material matter as much as the visible face of the fitting. Discuss whether one light or several fittings are needed for the area you want to illuminate.

Light and control choices

Tuya lighting is available in different connectivity and wattage variants. Choose the supplied downlight using its actual wattage, dimensions, light output, colour modes and controller rather than assuming every variant offers the same specification.

App control, room groups, scenes and voice assistants require the correct hardware and configuration. A Zigbee version may need a compatible gateway; a direct Wi-Fi version has different pairing requirements. Neither connection type nor gateway-free operation is assumed from the Tuya name alone.

Installation checklist

• Confirm the cut-out size, fitting depth and mounting arrangement.
• Check the supply and the driver or controller provided.
• Confirm whether the supplied light supports brightness or colour adjustment.
• Use a qualified electrician for the wiring and safe isolation.
• Check the suitability of the location before installing near moisture or insulation.
